Received the customer’s inquiry about the maintenance of high voltage cable
Recently, a customer called and said that the high-voltage cable they used before has been damaged. They want to buy our company’s products and also want to ask about the possible reasons for the damage of the high-voltage cable.
1. Mechanical damage of cable body. The most important fault of cable body is the mechanical damage of cable. Mechanical damage means that in the process of cable laying or after the completion of cable laying, affected by external forces, the cable deforms or breaks, which will lead to sudden failure of the cable, unable to transmit power normally, thus affecting the operation of the power grid. 2. Chemical damage of cable body. Chemical damage mainly refers to the continuous heating of high-voltage cable and accessories under the condition of overload, which finally causes damage to the cable. The causes of cable overheating include: no scientific and reasonable arrangement of cable layout is made during cable laying, and the cable tunnel is relatively closed and airless, so the cable will be heated continuously in actual operation, resulting in chemical damage to the cable body. 3. The cable quality is not qualified. In the cable manufacturing, the main insulation layer of the wrapped cable is not manufactured in strict accordance with the relevant standards, which results in the cracking of the main insulation layer of the wrapped cable, thus reducing the insulation performance of the cable main body. When the grounding fault occurs in the actual operation of the cable, the insulation breakdown phenomenon will occur because of the poor insulation performance, which results in the failure of the cable main body.
